She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius Jackson and Beatrice Jackson; her husband Sherman Newton; her son Albert Mitchel Jordan; her grandson Jeff Jordan; her great grandchildren, Rhett Brooks and Rowdy Lee Smith; her sons-in-law, Phil Maddox and Craig Smith; and her brother Paul B. Jackson.
She is survived by: her children, Sherite Hall (Charles), Sally Maddox and Rebecca Ashmore (Jamie); and her sister Montel Smith. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
