With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Nell Thornton (Brookhaven, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 11, 2025 at the age of 63. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donna Nell Thornton to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wiley Thornton (Billy) of Hazlehurst and Berth Faye Starnes Thornton. She is survived by: her children, Clark Little and Virginia Alexander (Matt); her grandchildren, Olen, Emmie, Lyla and Graham Alexander; her brothers, Billy Alvin Thornton (Judy) and Bobby Thornton (Dixie); her nieces and nephews, Brent Berry (Hope), Mason Thornton (Caitlyn), Kate Blaylock (Jay), Emily Steadman (Joseph) and Caroline Welch (Waylon); and her close friends, Jonelle Harris Sims, Melanie Haire and LeeAnne Alderman. She is also survived by extended family, church families, dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (200 E Monticello St, Brookhaven, MS 39601).
Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst, Spring Ridge United Methodist Church, or to the Donna Thornton Memorial Scholarship Fund through Copiah Bank.
