She was predeceased by: her parents, James Rufus and Mildred Burkhalter Strittman; her sister Mary Jane Strittman Norwood; her nephew Shane Wesley Strittman; her uncle Jessie N. Burkhalter; her aunt Elsie Reeves; and her cousins, Nancy Jane Reeves, Henry A. Reeves and Annie Marie Norris.
She is survived by: her husband Keith "Pete" Whittington; her children, Jamie Whittington (Lane) of Meadville, Ellie Whittington of Brookhaven and Marc Whittington (Jennifer) of Brookhaven; her grandchildren, Devan Kent (Brandon) of Bogue Chitto, Raney Whittington, Haley Whittington and Calan Whittington; her great grandchildren, Braceigh Ann Case, Brooks Kent, Ellis Kent and Campbell Kent; and her brother Jesse Strittman (Mary Nell) of Tylertown. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Whittington's name to the youth ministry of New Prospect Baptist Church, 691 Highway 84 West, Brookhaven, MS, 39601.
