He is survived by: his wife Joyce Curlin Hughes; his children, Matthew Brian Hughes (Melody) and Cheri Marie Boyte; his stepdaughter Rhonda Polk (Michael); his brother Arvil Hughes; his grandchildren, Angie Wood Gunnell, Sean Hughes (Sagan) and Brian Hughes (Kaitlin); his stepgrandchildren, Chance Polk (Beth), Morgan Polk, Amy Polk and Shawn Polk; and his great grandchildren, Marlee Gunnell and Maddox Chambers.
