She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert B. Smith and Sarah Lee Smith; and her grandson Evan Walker. She is survived by: her husband Sidney Carroll Ratcliff; her daughters, Lora Hedgepeth (Danny), Chris Haley, Pam Walker (Gary) and Michelle Bland (Brad); her siblings, Mitchell Smith (Carolyn) and Debbie; her grandchildren, Caitie Boatwright (Jason), Garrett May (Jaime), Betsy Melton (Ben), Sydney Ryan (John), Carey Thomas (Stuart), Nicole Schillings and Star Leonard; and her great grandchildren, Will Boatwright, Hannah Boatwright, Haley Melton, Heidi Melton and Anne Elizabeth May. She is also survived by four daughters, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
