He was predeceased by: his father Robert Revis Stokes; and his father-in-law William Douglas Dubose. He is survived by: his wife Verna Dubose Stokes of Braxton, MS; his son Robert Stokes (Lacey) of Brandon, MS; his mother Melba Warren Stokes; his granddaughter Lilly Hatfield of Brandon; his brothers, Jeff Stokes (Donna) and David Stokes (Pamela); and his mother-in-law Lou Gail Phillips (Bub). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall (3077 MS-13, Mendenhall, MS 39114). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 at the Zion Hill Cemetery.
