He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Russum; his parents-in-law, William Hood and Mary Alice Hood; and his brother Rayford Bubba Cooksey. He is survived by: his mother Ruby Russum of Braxton; his children, James Russum (Faith Fulcher) of Florence, Rebecca Lynn Russum (Tim Lee Lawrence) of Canada and Ashley Oswalt of Brandon; his grandchildren, Bennett Samuel Lawrence and Sweet Pea; the mother of his child Marie Hood of Florence; his aunts, Marie Phillips of Boggan Ridge and Peggy Denson of Forest; his nieces, Gwenda Phillips, Donieale Rosenkranz and Lee Ann Denson; his great-nephew Trey Denson; and his great-niece Makayla Denson.
