He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Braxton Neal and Ida Mae Dukes Neal; his sister Mary Lou Payne; his grandson Jason David Neal; his nephew Jeffrey Glenn Pollard; and his stepson William Dion Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Thalia Box Sanders Neal; his children, Sheelah Sharee Neal Brewer (Jimmy Hankins), Mark Jason Neal (Jennifer) and Kendell Charlotte Neal Churchwell (Jason); his grandchildren, Summer Elizabeth and Preston Charles Churchwell; his brother Thomas Webber Neal (Lorna); his nieces, Natalie Neal (William Nephew) and Ashley Neal (Lloyd Anderson); his nephew Jonathan Payne; and his brother-in-law Robert Box (Jan High). He is also survived by two grand-nieces, two grand-nephews.
