She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommie Lee and Eunice Clark Brittain; her former husband George Gilmer; her husband Morgan Gilmer; her siblings, K. D. Oliphant, Reba Ware and Johnie Brittain; and her nieces, Virginia Lee Hartley, Mary Spivey and Genell May.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Lorene Brittain; her nieces, Tommie Warnock (Thomas), Linda Fortenberry, Lillian Lay (Jerry), Imogene Byrd (Jimmy), Debbie Tischer, Susan Strebeck (Hugh), Jonnette Moss (Mark) and Patricia Reeves (Haywood); her nephew J. W. Shepherd; her friends, Nell Green and Max Loper; and her aunt Jean. She is also survived by great nieces, nephews and cousins.
