It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Laverne Layton of Brandon, Mississippi, born in Morton, Mississippi, who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, A. P. Tadlock and Lillian Ester Squires Tadlock; her husband William H. "Pops" Layton; her grandson Bo Layton; and her son-in-law Alvin Miller.
She is survived by: her children, William H. Layton, Jr. (Karen), Janice McCrory (Jim), Linda Bowie (Clyde) and Cheryl Odom (Jerry); and her siblings, Roger Tadlock, Sarah Franklin and Oscar Tadlock (Annette). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
