He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Young and Eunice Madeline Sumrall Young; and his brothers, Jimmy Young and Dave Young. He is survived by: his wife Janice Young; his children, Casey Young (Courtney) and Misty Vowell; his brother Danny Young (Debra); and his grandchildren, Olivia Vowell, Anna-Claire Young, Madeline Vowell and Emerson Young.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Matthew 25 Fund at Pinelake Church 6071 Hwy. 25 Brandon, MS 39047.
