He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Tagert and Ruby Westbrook Tagert; his daughter Kishia Young; his grandchildren, J. T. Young and Rebecca Tagert; and his sisters, Katherine Jones and Betty Talbert.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda Tagert; his sons, Stephen and David Tagert; his grandson Josh Young; and his siblings, Shirley Long, Robert and Jesse Tagert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
