He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval R. Simmons and Ella P. Brown Simmons; his former wife Irene Hensley Simmons; his grandchildren, Nathan Young and Emily Young; and also, Doris Warren Simmons, Winnie Rutherford (Bruce), Mildred Osborne (Ray), Oscar Simmons (JoAnn) and Thomas Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Sally Welch (James) and Steven Simmons (Masami); his stepchildren, Ty Warren (Lindsay) and Pam Brown (Greg); his grandchildren, Ezekiel Young, Jedediah Welch, Austin Simmons, Anna White (Jeremy), Meg Brown, Peyton Brown (Hayley), Molly Hollingsworth (Barry), John Caleb Warren and Matt Warren (Laura); his great grandchildren, Charlotte White, Emma White, Walt Brown and Caleb Hollingsworth; his siblings, Gatha Triplett (Donald) and Harlen Simmons (Ina); and his sister-in-law Delcie Simmons.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Fannin Baptist Cemetery.
