With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mable Elizabeth (Liz) Callahan Cole (Brandon, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 19, 2025 at the age of 91. As Mable Elizabeth departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mable Elizabeth may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mable Elizabeth leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde A. Callahan, Sr. and Fannie Reed Callahan; her husband Max Murphree Cole; and her siblings, Clyde Callahan, Jr., John Q. Callahan, Zette Terry, Faye Hunter and Pat Carver.
She is survived by: her daughter Deborah Cole Watts (Samuel Thomas Watts); and her grandchildren, John Barry Watts of Brandon, MS and Debbie. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Homes- Brandon (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery (906 Co Rd 416, Woodland, MS 39776).
