He is survived by: his wife Mable McGee Sims; his children, Christopher Douglas Sims (Geneva) of Jackson and Phyllis Teresa Sims-Rankin of Florence, MS; his grandchildren, Sherida Hicks, Antonio Rankin, Christopher L. Sims, Corriee Sims, Samantha Rankin, Amanda Rankin, Tiara Sims, Brandy McGinnis and Daniel Franklin; his siblings, Edna Mae Buckhaulter of Jackson, James Sims (Marydell) of Bassfield, Dorothy Ann Sims of Jackson, Burnell Sims (Connie) of Cleveland and Deloris Thompson of Jackson; and his sister-in-law Mary Helen McGee of Florence. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
