He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Pope and Elza Pope; and his sister Vi Jones. He is survived by: his wife Sherrell Pope; his children, Rev. Michael-John Pope (Dena) of Byhalia, MS and Shellie Pope Davidhizar of Ocean Springs, MS; his grandchildren, Shelbie Davidhizar, Lowrie Davidhizar, Conner Harmon and Dylan Davidhizar; and his siblings, Duane Pope (Teresa) of Brandon and Nita Goldman (Randall) of Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Methodist Children's Home of Mississippi, 805 North Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS 39209.
