He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton John Speaks and Gladys Reep Speaks; his wife Sandy Speaks; and his siblings, Mable Speaks Hamel, Elsie Speaks Halkowski, Annie Speaks Cowart, Louise Speaks Warner and Angelo Speaks.

He is survived by: his son Gary Speaks of Clinton, MS; and his siblings, Robert Speaks (Betty) of Jayess, MS and Jessie Addy (Jim) of Brandon, MS..
