He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Eddie Messer and Dorothy Callahan Messer; his sons, John Richard Messer, Aaron Messer (Alice) and Christopher Lee Messer (Heidi); and his sister Susie Long. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
