He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Kay and Dorothy Ash Kay; his wife Sophie Kay; his grandson Aaron Kay; and his siblings, Harold, Florence, Beulah "Boots" and Juanita.

He is survived by: his son Robert Kay (Petra); his grandson David Kay (Jordan); his great grandchildren, Sarah and Hannah Kay; and his siblings, Rosalea Cole and Frank Kay.
