He was predeceased by: his wife Dean Redd of Brandon, Mississippi; his parents, Minnie Redd, and James Redd, Sr.; and his siblings, Leonard Redd, Sr. (late Erma Lee) and Margaret Dear.
He is survived by: his children, Minnie, James Redd Sr., Gail Muriel (Walter) of Brandon and Debra Jones (Roy) of Bolton, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Reginald Jones (Monique) of Cape Town, Kristen Wynn of Brandon, Kevin Murriel (Ashleigh) of Ackworth and Whitney Jermaine; his great grandchildren, Braxton, Parker Wells, Baylor Wynn of Brandon, Scarlett, Anderson Murriel of Ackworth, Landon and Sydney Lake Perkins of Clinton, Mississippi.; his siblings, James Redd Jr. (Earline), Walter James Redd (Dorothy) of Brandon, Doris Scott-Prothro (late Allen) of Los Angeles, Shirley Sullivan of Harbor City, Mattie Lister Thompson (Howard) of Brandon, Misissippi, Daisy Johnson (Ralph) of Florence and Gloria Wells (Tommie Lee) of Pearl, Mississippi; and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Tillis and Eddie Dear, Sr. of Brandon, Mississippi. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
