He was predeceased by: his parents, Erbie Eldridge Massengill and Ella Frances McCrory Massengill; his brothers, Joe Massengill and Jerry Massengill; his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jones Massengill and Sandra Massengill; his nieces, Angela Suggs and Melissa "Lisa" Jo Massengill; and his nephew Michael Massengill.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Carol Sellers Massengill; his sons, Joseph Brandon Massengill (Gina McClain Massengill), Aaron Kelly Massengill and Daniel Patrick Massengill; his brother Alan Kent Massengill; his nephew Ben Massengill; his nieces, Jennifer Williams and Kim Massengill Holmes; and his grandchildren, Mattie Massengill and Samuel Massengill.
