He was predeceased by: his father James W. Branning. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Lynne Branning (Harvey); his son Jay Douglas Branning (Jima); his grandchildren, Ainsley Kate Branning and Baylor Harvey Branning; his mother Clara Nell Branning; his siblings, Donna McArthur (Chip), Lee Branning (Carla) and Joe Marc Branning (Debbie); and his brother-in-law Ricky Harvey (Caroline). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pinelake Church, 6071 HW 25 in Brandon or to Morgan Chapel Baptist Church, 4950 Morgantown Rd in Sturgis.
