He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Thornton and Betty Coke Thornton; and his brother Carroll Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Thornton; his children, Chaz Thornton, Michelle Watson, Stacy Creel (Charlie) and Jeanette Craven; his siblings, Patricia Hood (Jerry) and Lynn Thornton; his cousin Nell Barnes; his niece Rachael McKellar; and his nephews, Chris Hood and Nick Hood (April). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
