She was predeceased by: her father Buford Holmes; and her husband John D. Howard. She is survived by: her children, Lisa Howard Purvis (Lee), John D. Howard Jr. (Sho) and Lance B. Howard (Edie); her grandchildren, Ashley M. Wood (Matt), Lindsey M. Friel (Chris) and Lee J. Purvis Jr.; her great grandchildren, Lilee Strickland, Reese Wood and Rivers Wood; and her sister Bertha Holmes Cliburn.
