It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nan Simmons Muir of Boyle, Mississippi, born in Cleveland, Mississippi, who passed away on January 4, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Sara "Sally" Phyllis Muir; her former husband Morton; her parents, Nell Simmons and Bernard Simmons; her siblings, Bernell Eustis Simmons (Bess) and Sarah Simmons East (Charles); her nephew Charles East, Jr.; her uncle William Wyatt Simmons (Mary); and her siblings-in-law, Chris Connor Muir and Desima Dean Willeford (Willie).
She is survived by: her husband Dr. Eric Muir; her sons, Eric Wyatt Muir, MD (Betty) and Edward Simmons Muir, MD (Izzi); her grandson Christopher Eric Muir; her great grandchildren, Wyatt Christopher Muir, Luke Daniel Smigielski and Eli Joseph Smigielski; and her sister-in-law Marge Eichelberger Muir.
