He is survived by: his wife Catherine Yates; his daughter Buffie Yates Moore (Jason); his sister Nancy "Susie" Yates; his siblings-in-law, Jodie Criswell and Doris Jumper; his grandchildren, Annie Byrd (Ben), Colby Moore, Ethan Yates and Sam Yates; his stepgranddaughter Emma Grace Bryant; and his great grandchildren, Ridge and Lottie Bell Byrd. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
