He was predeceased by: his parents, Clint Grimes and Novalee Grimes; and his brother Curtis Grimes. He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Grimes; his sons, Darrell Grimes (Paula) and Tracy Grimes; his grandchildren, Julie Grimes, Cory Lee (Kim) and Matthew Lee; and his great grandchildren, Gabee Kate Lee, Colton Lee, Grayley Lee, Kendall Lee and Brady Lee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McMillan Funeral Home (702 W College St, Booneville, MS 38829). A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
