He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Clayton and Noda Lois Chase; and his siblings, Gerald Chase, Danny Chase and Ernestine Baker.

He is survived by: his wife Clara Chase; his children, Michael Chase, Tim Chase (Lisa), Greg Chase (Karen) and Beverly Medley (Joey); and his siblings, Bobby Chase (Vivian), Linda Hooper, Sadie Gist and Oreda Russell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
