She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Thornton and Offie Thornton; her sister Dorothy Early; and her children, Larry Stephens and Sandra Joy Stephens.

She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Johnson (Jerry) and Kathy Marion (Terry); and her grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Amber Hachet, Brandon Stephens (Marquita), Levi Stephens (Bri), Dammion Stephens (ReRe), Bradley Stephens (Brittney) and Erica Imes (Shawn). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
