She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Thompson (Pappy) and Lillian Victoria Whitaker Thompson (Mammy); and her daughter Sheila Carpenter. She is survived by: her sons, Rickey Fitzsimmons (Robin) of Marietta and Tony Fitzsimmons (JoAnn) of Marietta; her brother Harold Thompson (Jeanie) of Olive Branch, MS.; her former husband James Fitzsimmons; her husband Luis Sanchez; and her siblings, Ellis Thompson (Sophie), Les Thompson (Nan), Lester Thompson (Mildred), Hubert Thompson, Ernestine King (Jessie), Jewell Sheffield (Henry), Mildred Lowery (Leon), Etheleene Lee (Freed), Edith Bowen (Charlie) and Edna Thompson. She is also survived by her sons, her daughters-in-law, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
