It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo Sharp (Booneville, Mississippi), born in Townley, Alabama, who passed away on February 19, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Columbus Guthrie and Vera Pike Guthrie; her husband Bernal Sharp; her daughter Nita Tays; and her sister Ilene Kilpatrick.
She is survived by: her son Keith Sharp of Athens, AL; her sister Mary Ames of Pinson, AL; her grandchildren, Kim Yates of Booneville, Jason Tays of Chattanooga, TN, Jeremy Sharp (Victoria) of Athens, AL and Julie Sharp of Athens, AL; her great grandchildren, Ethan Yates of Booneville, Sam Yates of Booneville, Emma Grace Bryant of Booneville and Aidan Jansen of Athens, AL; and her son-in-law Gene Tays.
