She was predeceased by: her father Earl Ray; her husband Freddie Dale Akers; her son Stephen Ray Akers; and her half-brother Billy Walden Smith (Virginia). She is survived by: her son Sterling Dale Akers (Jina) of Booneville; her siblings, Mary Lynn Smith (Bernell), Janie Gale Clouse (Russell) and Mackie Don Smith (Rhonda) of Booneville; her grandchildren, Emily Harrison (Shane) of Booneville, Evan Akers (Hayley) of Burnsville and Elizabeth Holley (Easton) of Booneville; and her great grandchild Asher Harrison of Booneville. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
