He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Frank George and Elsa Grenn Burns; his brother Frank E. Burns; and his grandparents, Rosalie Burns, Edward and Ada Grenn.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Adams Burns; his daughters, Tracy Burns Jackson (Billy) and Terri Burns-Mabile (Matt); and his grandchildren, Colby Mabile, Sage Mabile Clark (Shane), Amanda Jackson, Taylor Lewis, Robert Frank "Robbie" Mabile, Alexandra Jackson, AnnaRose Mabile, Samuel Mabile, Amy Mabile and Benjamin Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Jackson Street United Methodist Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
