He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Myrtis Alberta Young McCaffrey; his former wife Brenda Rose Hannaford McCaffrey; his brother John Henry McCaffrey Jr.; and his stepmother Billie McCaffrey Moak.
He is survived by: his wife Cecile Reeves Spencer McCaffrey of Bogue Chitto; his sons, Byron McCaffrey and Eric Ian McCaffrey (Casey) of Gloucester, VA.; his stepsons, Rev. Tim Spencer (Suzy) of West Monroe, LA. and Barry Spencer of Hollywood Maryland; his brothers, Donald McCaffrey (Barbara) of Brandon, MS. and Darrell McCaffrey (Debbie) of Crystal Springs, MS.; his grandchildren, Brendan and Chloe McCaffrey; and his stepgrandchildren, William, Daniel and Katie Spencer.
