She was predeceased by: her parents, John Emmitt Slade and Mildred Conn Slade; her sisters, Dixie Jean Starnes and Gertha Lea White; her child Ernest Avants (Paul Burns); her grandson Shane Wallis; and her great grandchild Kelsey Avants.
She is survived by: her children, Elizabeth Wallace (Buddy), Glenn Avants (Eva) and David Avants (Tiffany); and her grandchildren, Todd Wallis, Jason Avants, Nathan Avants, Chastity Milton, Candace McDowell, Seth Avants, Maddie Ginn and Zach Avants. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and extended family.
