It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Edward Thompson of Bogue Chitto, Mississippi, who passed away on January 25, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Alexander Thompson and Para Lee Smith Thompson; his wife Myrtis Marie Miller Thompson; his sons, William "Bubba" Thompson and John Travis Thompson; and his siblings, Lloyd Thompson, Buddy Thompson, Johnny Roy Thompson, Nelson "Chimp" Thompson, Robert Thompson, Ruby Nell "Sis" Thornhill and Geneva Cockerham.
He is survived by: his children, Leslie Thompson (Kathy), Mike Pepper (Rhonda) and Angie Fortin (Dwayne); his sister Peggy Lee (Prentiss); his nephew Lee Thompson; his close friend Joe Malone (Brandi); his caregivers, Virginia, Missy, Hannah, Sondra, Ollie and Kathy; and his pet Dixie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
