He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harvey Teaster and Frances Elizabeth Ferguson; his brother-in-law Robert Jackson; and his brothers, Garnet and Billy Teaster.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Fay Teaster; his children, David Teaster (Brittany), Ryan Teaster (Nicole) and Shana Teaster Prather (Tony); his siblings, James Loyd Teaster (Marsha) and Libbie Jackson; his grandchildren, Vivian Wallace, Aaron Prather, Noel Crittenden, Morgan Wallis, Braxton Wallis, Sara Kate Teaster, Benjamin Teaster, Myles Teaster, Hayden Teaster, Cade Teaster and Olivia Teaster; and his great grandchildren, Rosaleigh Wallace and Archer Crittenden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Topisaw Baptist Church Building Fund.
