He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Newman and Elenora Desporte Newman; his wife Laura Uchello Newman; his brothers, Herbert and Newman, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Lawrence "Tubby" Gomila, Jimmy Braun and Anna Newman.

He is survived by: his sisters, Verna Gomila of Biloxi, Yvonne Braun of Biloxi and Connie Keegan (Lee) of Biloxi; and his friend Glenn Corso. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Perry's name to the ALS Association at als.org.
