He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Malachi Creel, Sr. and Helen Marie Bond Creel. He is survived by: his wife Maria Creel; his daughters, Natalie Creel Bailey and Caterina Creel; his grandchildren, Mia, Blaze, Tripp and Roary; and his brothers, Melvin "Rocky" Creel and Barney Creel.

“I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mike was a good man with a good heart. I treasured knowing Helen and Melvin and your family was an integral part of my growing up. Your family stepped in when I needed a family for that time in my life, and I will be forever grateful. I would drive over from Fairhope for the funeral except I'm commited to be in a wedding in Park City this Friday. My spirit will be there however. Risa Ladner”
