She was predeceased by: her parents, Idell Wells Smith and William Hance Smith; her husband Nicolas "Corky" Hire; and her siblings, Louise McGough, Alverine Smith and Joyce Gilbert.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rita Ann Bailey (Gil) and Lisa Hire Cummings (Jim); her grandchildren, Bridgett B. Bermond (Jeremy), Katherine "Katie" Bailey, Nicolas Cummings and Paul Cummings; and her great grandchildren, Bailey Bermond, Peyton Bermond and Finnley Bermond. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
