With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Cox of Biloxi, Mississippi, born in Ripley, Mississippi, who passed away on April 2, 2023 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Cox and Juliette Cox Harvey; his stepfather Will Harvey; and his sister Brenda Wallace. He is survived by: his daughter Jamie Peoples (Rod); his grandchildren, Rylee of Albert James and Jordan; his stepson Otis "Jay" Hopkins, Jr.; his siblings, Willie Cox (Georgette), Johnnie Thompson, Harry Cox, Deborah Ferguson (Keith), Janice Robertson (John), Patricia Sims, Williette Harvey and Juliette Harvey; his cousins, Fulton and Paula Alexander; and his extended family, Magdalene Stubbs, Theresia Rogers and Carolyn Floyd. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
