He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward R. Duits and Ruth H. Mahrt Duits; his wife Bernadine L. Hickman; his sister Fran Pisel; and his son-in-law Kevin Donlan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Gillespie, Deanna Witzel (Don), Stephanie Donlan, Nancy Ybarra and Allyn Schmidt (Brandon). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
