He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Gayle Whitney and Albert G. Whitney, Sr.; his wife Elaine S. Van Kampen (Ginny); and his siblings, Aleen Fisher, Charles Whitney and Mary Ann Whiteson.
He is survived by: his brother John T. Whitney (Connie); and his children, Gregory S. (Heidi), Scott R. (Carol), James W. (Jennifer A.) and Jennifer L. Schmidig (Ron). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
