She was predeceased by: her parents, Neal Anderson and Marion Lollar Anderson; her husband George Nelson; and her siblings, Merle Williams, Teresa "Sissie" Dugan and Thomas Anderson.

She is survived by: her son Bubba Nelson (Velvet) of Byram, MS; her sister Marion "Doddie" Crutchfield Ross of Big Creek; her granddaughter Lauren Milner (Joseph) of Flora, MS; and her great grandchildren, Avery Milner and Lillian Milner.
