She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Rowe and Charles Humphrey Branum; and her daughter Jane Lister Ogden. She is survived by: her husband Hugh Varnado, Jr.; and her children, Richard T. Lister, Jr. (Susan Shaw Lister), Thomas S. Lister, Sr. (Lynn Burt Lister) and Lila P. Lister Braswell (W. Denon Braswell, Jr.). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
