He was predeceased by: his parents, Kearney Potter and Burnie Potter; and his siblings, Shirley Potter Holmes, Mac Potter and Rickey Potter.
He is survived by: his sisters, Barbara Hoke (Earl) of Belzoni and Sandra Briggs (Otis) of Wayside, Mississippi.; his significant other Rose Lanelle Potter; his daughters, Tamra Helms (Glenn) of Belzoni and Ann Potter of Saint Petersburg, Florida.; his grandchildren, Austin Gustin-Helms (Philip) of Saint Petersburg, Chelsea Burge (Bryan) of Inverness and Ethan Helms of Nashville; and his great grandchildren, Hannah Rose Burge and Thomas James Burge of Inverness. He is also survived by two daughters, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
