He was predeceased by: his parents, Burley Commodore and Elizabeth Jane Byrd; his son Rudell Byrd; his granddaughter Autumn Bond; and his siblings, Nick Byrd, Bonnie Nell Sylvester and Gloria Jean Herring.
He is survived by: his wife Voncile Jordan Byrd of Beaumont; his sons, Wayne Byrd (Janet) of Hattiesburg and Nelson Byrd of Richton; his grandchildren, Hayley Williamson (Zach), Katie Croisdale (Michael), Misty Byrd, Levi Byrd, Amber Byrd and Gregory Byrd; his aunts, Penton and Zettie Bodie; and his great grandchild S. Army.
