He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Butler and Ada Butler; and his siblings, Dolly Thompson, Vernette Sermans, Nona, Cecil Butler and Fred Butler.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Susan Griffith and Billy Jack Alexander; and also, Linda Stroud (Tony), Jacob Walley (Calla), Justin Brondum (Faith), Tasha East and D. L. Gieger (Annette).
