He is survived by: his children, Gary Nelson (Carla) and Debbie Smith (Kyle); his grandchildren, Taylor Nelson (Stephanie), Collin Nelson, Jewel Gunther (Blaine), Austin Smith (Natalie), Rusty Smith (Samantha) and Sawyer Smith; and his great grandchildren, Braxton Nelson, Konnor Gunther, Autumn Smith and Cullen Smith.
