She was predeceased by: her husband James Heard; her parents, Henry Sims and Carrie Sims; her son James Heard, II; and her siblings, Adam Sims, Eddie Sims, Howard Sims, Bettie Thompson, Annie Dixon, Annette Stockman and JoAnn Tisdale.
She is survived by: her son Stephen Heard (Pam); and her grandchildren, Melissa Avary (Marc), Sarah Rogers (Hunter), James Heard and Trey Heard (Olivia). She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
